The station is modelled for the year 2061 considering the current and anticipated rate of growth of passenger traffic. There is a clear segregation of departing and arriving passenger movement. A strong iconic and landmark identity is created through a modern, functional and aspirational facade and grand canopies.

72 mts wide Air-Concourse above the platforms is designed to cater to passengers waiting and is vertically connected to all the platforms through elevators and escalators. Other amenities include premium lounges, TVMs, kiosks, and restrooms.

The station is modelled for the year 2061 considering the current and anticipated rate of growth of passenger traffic in the city. A state-of-the-art facility for train commuters, a new community space for public to connect and travel and a smooth and congestion free connectivity to the city.
The layout is clean with robust geometry and captures the local context and spirit via modern yet a simple approach to planning. Highlight is the grand drop off canopy reflecting the famous 'Ikat' design of Odisha in the form of etched glass panels. Three distinct facade options were developed and presented as part of the standard design process.
